R/C Large Model
Purpose of the Committee
To be MAAC’s resource for all issues related to the safe and fun enjoyment of large RC models. A Large Model Aircraft (formerly known as Giant Scale) as defined by MAAC, is a model aircraft with a total flying weight not heavier than 25 Kg (55 lbs) and with: 1. A minimum wingspan of 2.0 metres (78") for monoplanes; 2. A minimum wingspan of 1.5 metres (59") for Biplanes/Multi-wings; 3. 3.5 metres (138") total length plus wingspan for jets; and, 4. all true scale models of 25% scale or larger.
